We have been lucky to get our hands on a large cast list for Jeepers Creepers 3. The long-awaited sequel, which has seen many false starts over the years, is currently shooting and could arrive before our eyes next year. We already knew that actor/stuntman Jonathan Breck would be back in the role of ‘The Creeper’. For years it has also been said that Gina Phillips, who starred in the original, would finally return to the series as ‘Trish Jenner’. We can now confirm that.
While there is no word at this time as to whether or not we might see Justin Long back as ‘Derry Jenner’ or Ray Wise return as ‘Jack Taggert Sr.’, the cast list contains a few surprises for genre fans. None other than Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Escape From New York) is in for the sequel and will be playing a character named ‘Gaylen Brandon’. Also appearing is veteran character actor Stan Shaw, who has appeared in various projects such as The Monster Squad, Runaway, Cutthroat Island, and Snake Eyes over the years. Shaw will take on the role of ‘Sheriff Tashtego’.
Joining them in leading or supporting roles are Chester Rushing (“Stranger Things“), Ryan Moore (Pitchfork), Patrick Thomas Cragin (“How to Be a Vampire”), Brandon Smith (“From Dusk Till Dawn”), Gabrielle Haugh (Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?), and Justin Hall (Django Unchained). Michael Papajohn, Megan Elizabeth Wright, Jason Bayle, Cade Burk, Joyce Giraud, and Jordan Salloum, Don Yesso, David Davis, , Casey Hendershot, Thomas Francis Murphy, and Carrie Lazar also have roles in the production, which is currently underway in .
We still do not have an updated synopsis for the project or any idea as to whether or not it will be following the one we were given years ago…
“Trish Jenner is now a mother of a teenage son named Darry, named after the brother she lost 23 years ago. Trish has a recurring nightmare where her son suffers the same fate as her brother did, killed by the Creeper. Determined to prevent this from happening, Trish, who is now a rich and powerful woman, sets out on a final quest with Jack Taggart Sr. and Jr. to end the Creeper’s reign of terror once and for all. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins.”
Here’s hoping we get some sort of story update from the production in the coming weeks. Regardless, the closing chapter to writer/director Victor Salva’s justifiably controversial Jeepers Creepers trilogy is upon us. Whether or not you decide that you want to when the time comes is up to you, but the option to do so will soon be available.
