Margaret Qualley (“The Leftovers“, The Nice Guys) has been cast in Warner Bros.’ manga adaptation, Death Note. She will be playing the English-language adaptation’s version of Misa Amane. In the source material, Misa is a model who finds the protagonist, Light Yagami, and helps him on his quest. She joins the already-cast Nat Wolff (Paper Towns, The Intern), who will be playing the film’s version of Light.
Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) is directing the project, which has been written by Anthony Bagarozzi & Vlas Parapanides and Jeremy Slater & Chuck Mondry. Doug Davison, Ryan Halprin, Roy Lee, John Powers Middleton, and Adam C. Stone are executive producing the feature, with Dan Lin, Masi Oka, and Brian Witten producing as well. Production is slated for earlier next year, ahead of a 2017 release.
