‘The Lego Batman Movie’ Gets A Poster & Some Stills

Warner Bros. has yet to add a solo Batman film starring Ben Affleck to their DC Cinematic Universe slate.  That doesn’t mean we will be entirely devoid of solo Caped Crusader shenanigans in the near future, however.  Arriving on February 10, 2017 will be The Lego Batman Movie, a spin-off of WB’s previous hit, The Lego Movie.  We’re still a little under a year away from its release, but that doesn’t mean WB isn’t already beginning to tease the superhero satire.

Today the studio issued not only a teaser poster for the upcoming project (via star Will Arnett’s ), but also a handful of still images from the film (courtesy of USA Today).  Little is known in the way of plot for the animated feature, although director Chris McKay has given the tantalizing description of it being “About a Boy as directed by Michael Mann”.  I don’t know about you, but I’m automatically sold based on that alone.

The Lego Batman Movie is slated to hit screens on February 10, 2017.  It is directed by Chris McKay, from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith.  Chris Miller & Phil Lord (The Lego Movie) will produce, alongside Dan Lin and Roy Lee.  The project showcases the vocal talents of Will Arnett as ‘Batman’, Michael Cera as ‘Robin’, Rosario Dawson as ‘Batgirl’, Ralph Fiennes as ‘Alfred Pennyworth’, Mariah Carey as ‘The Mayor of Gotham’, and Zach Galifianakis as ‘The Joker’.
