Just two days ago it was revealed that Margot Robbie and David Ayer would be reuniting for another DCU entry in the form of Gotham City Sirens, an all-female villain storyline that would focus specifically on Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn. Robbie, who will be acting as executive producer on the film, is already locked in to reprise her Suicide Squad role as Harley Quinn but both Catwoman and Poison Ivy are unknowns at this point. However, rumors have already begun swirling because what’s the point in a news story breaking without wild speculations flying left and right?
According to Bleeding Cool, Transformers and TMNT star Megan Fox could be locked down for Poison Ivy. Their evidence of this? Let’s break it down:
- She’s a comic nerd
- She’s been in comic movies, such as Jonah Hex and played Lois Lane on “Robot Chicken”
- She has stated that she wants to play the role
- She has apparently been ordering several comics with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy palling around
- That’s it. No, seriously, that’s it.
Look, I’m not saying this isn’t a possible outcome. Megan Fox is still a very recognizable name and she clearly has a love of all things geeky. Plus, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn have been confirmed to be in a polyamorous relationship, something Fox has experienced portraying, in a manner, in Jennifer’s Body.
What I am saying is that this announcement is so fresh that all speculation at this point is just that. There’s nothing confirmed beyond Ayer and Robbie working together with the latter reprising her role. We’ll just have to wait for the project to progress in its production to begin getting solid, reliable, confirmed information.
