Production on ABC’s “The Inhumans” is set to begin in March. The Marvel series will be filming in both Los Angeles and Chicago, according to Production Weekly. The 8-episode series will air commercial free beginning September 26th. The first two episodes will receive an IMAX special screening in select theaters on September 1st. While no actors have been cast in the series yet, you can find out what characters to expect in the show here. “The Inhumans” is the third Marvel series from ABC, following “Agent Carter” and the still-running “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.“.
As you can see about, the latest teaser for Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” revival event series has dropped. This particular one focuses on original series lead Agent Dale Cooper, once again played by Kyle MacLachlan. Naturally the spot gives nothing in the way of plot, instead opting to continue setting the mood. The limited revival series arrives on May 21st with a two-part premiere, with a further 16 episodes to follow. Original creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have returned to steer this weird trip of a ship and brought along the majority of the original cast members for the ride.
Over on the HBO side of the premium cable room, their programing chief Casey Bloys recently spoke up on the progress that has been made on a “Deadwood” revival. Last year HBO finally confirmed that series creator David Milch had been given the greenlight to craft a TV movie to wrap up the beloved western series that many think was cancelled before its time. So what’s the word? Not good, but also not bad. It seems that progress is being made, but at a much slower pace than most fans would like. Kudos to for providing Bloys’ comments…
I haven’t read [series creator David Milch]’s script yet. I know he’s working on it. But I have not seen anything yet. I couldn’t even put odds on [it getting made]. I don’t want to get your hopes up or disappoint you in any way, so I’ll just say I don’t have any news. Which I truly don’t.”
Hot off the success of their miniseries adaptation of John le Carre‘s “The Night Manager“, AMC have set their eyes on another of the author’s works: The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. broke that Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire) has been hired to write a miniseries adaptation of the classic espionage novel. The project will once again be a collaborative one between AMC and The BBC. No production timeline is currently in place for the series.
Lastly, HBO has issued its first teaser for the upcoming television movie, The Wizard of Lies. The film comes from director Barry Levinson, who previously produced Phil Spector and directed You Don’t Know Jack for the channel. The Wizard of Lies tells the tale of stockbroker Bernie Madoff (Robert De Niro) and his fraudulent actions in the ’00s. Michelle Pfeiffer, Alessandro Nivola, Hank Azaria, Nathan Darrow, and Lily Rabe also star. The film premieres on HBO in May.
