Super Bowl TV Spot: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’

Man, writer/director James Gunn’s music choices remain on point. I’m not even a big Fleetwood Mac fan and I can’t help but love how “The Chain” is used here. Marvel has, of course, unleashed the latest teaser for the next upcoming feature, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. As expected, it looks absolutely delightful…

There’s a lot going on in that TV spot. In addition to giving some fun beats to our five original heroes, the expanded team members also get a few nice moments. Yondu and Nebula will clearly make great additions to the roster, but newcomer Mantis also looks like a wonderful new team member. On top of all of this, amidst the barrage of insane imagery and comedic action beats, we have been given our first look at Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha. We’re still coming up short on a glimpse of Kurt Russell’s Ego, but there’s still plenty of time for that.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the 15th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Written and directed by James Gunn, the upcoming sequel was produced by Kevin Feige. It stars Chris Pratt as ‘Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord)’, Zoe Saldana as ‘Gamora’, Dave Bautista as ‘Drax the Destroyer’, Bradley Cooper as the voice of ‘Rocket Raccoon’, Vin Diesel as the voice of ‘Groot’, Michael Rooker as ‘Yondu Udonta’, Karen Gillian as ‘Nebula’, Pom Klementieff as ‘Mantis’, Kurt Russell as ‘Ego’, Elizabeth Debicki as ‘Ayesha’, Glenn Close as ‘Irani Rael’, Sean Gunn as ‘Kraglin’, Chris Sullivan as ‘Taserface’, Evan Jones as ‘Wretch’, Mike Emascamilla as ‘Scrote’, Jimmy Urine as ‘Half-Nut’, Stephen Blackehart as ‘Brahl’, Steve Agee as ‘Gef’, Joe Fria as ‘Oblo’, Terence Rosemore as ‘Narblik’, and Tommy Flanagan as ‘Tulik’. Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone also appear in as-yet-undisclosed roles.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 rockets into theaters on May 5th, 2017.
