Holy Crap, This New ‘The Fate Of The Furious’ Trailer

Oh hey, look! It’s a brand new trailer for Universal’s The Fate of the Furious. The last one was messily edited, but conveyed an gigantically bonkers action film. How does this one fare? Is it a better trailer? And does it manage to up the ante of the wrecking ball and submarine moments of the last trailer? Let’s find out…

Well that was just ridiculous in all the right ways. As someone who has been with this franchise through all of its ups and downs, it’s nice to see it continuing to lean into the macho gearhead stupidity of Fast Five and just floor it on through into insanity. Even setting aside Dwayne Johnson launching a torpedo at an enemy vehicle by hand and Jason Statham swooping in from an offscreen “Silverhawks” adaptation, there’s so much crazy to unload here. I mean, an army of remote controlled life-size cars? What?!?

Seriously, this looks like the biggest slice of dumb imaginable and I absolutely could not be happy. After catching the (awesome) xXx: Return of Xander Cage about two months ago, I wonder if Vin Diesel would be able to top the “8-year-old jacked up on Mountain Dew and playing with his G.I. Joes” aesthetic of that film here. I apologize for ever doubting you, Vin.

The Fate of the Furious is the eighth film in The Fast and the Furious franchise. It is directed by F. Gary Gray, from a screenplay by Chris Morgan. The picture is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, and Michael Fottrell. It stars Vin Diesel as ‘Dominic Toretto’, Dwayne Johnson as ‘Luke Hobbs’, Charlize Theron as ‘Cipher’, Michelle Rodriguez as ‘Letty Ortiz’, Jason Statham as ‘Deckard Shaw’, Tyrese Gibson as ‘Roman Pearce’, Chris Bridges as ‘Tej Parker’, Kurt Russell as ‘Frank Petty’, Nathalie Emmanuel as ‘Ramsey’, Elsa Pataky as ‘Elena Neves’, Tego Calderon as ‘Tego Leo’, Don Omar as ‘Rico Santos’, and Kristofer Hivju as ‘Rhodes’. Helen Mirren and Scott Eastwood also appear.

The Fate of the Furious arrives in cinemas on April 14th, 2017.

I would of never thought back in like 2000 that this film would of ever been where it is and being as insane as it. #7 still never gets old for me. If they keep doing all this insane action we’ll be good. The cool shit is that half the action they do is real. granted some of it isn’t, but the cars flying out of the garage is real, some of the other car scenes too. I like that they do that.
