Fox‘s upcoming biopic of the band Queen finally has its core cast. Actors Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse), Gwilym Lee (“Midsomer Murders“), and Joe Mazzello (The Social Network) will portray band members Roger Taylor, Brian May, and John Deacon, respectively. They join the already-cast Rami Malek (“Mr. Robot“), who will be portraying frontman Freddie Mercury.
The film, titled Bohemian Rhapsody, is slated to begin production soon under the direction of Bryan Singer. (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie). The longtime X-Men filmmaker has left behind the mutant-powered superhero franchise as a director, instead deciding to focus on an assortment of other projects, with Rhapsody being the first of them. Singer is also attached to helm a new adaptation of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for Fox, as well as continue his role as a producer on various X-Men film and television projects.
