The moment has arrived! Nightmares Film Festival has announced its full 2017 lineup! Ohio’s premier horror festival will run from Thursday, October 19th through Sunday, October 22nd. Columbus’ world-renowned Gateway Film Center will once again be home to “Better Horror” next month and this year’s selection offers an even wider variety of genre selections and talent.
The festival will begin on that Thursday with one of the country’s select few screenings of Victor Crowley, the latest film in the fan favorite Hatchet franchise. Writer/director Adam Green (Frozen, Digging Up the Marrow) himself will be in attendance. The slasher extravaganza will continue that night with another rare North American screening: Leatherface. This latest film in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise was directed by none other than Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, the fiendish cinematic minds behind such films as Inside, Livid, and Among the Living!
The festival will screen a whopping 25 features across its four days, including numerous world premieres. Among these are film such as Child’s Play and Fright Night director Tom Holland‘s Rock Paper Dead, James Quinn’s mind-bending Flesh of the Void, horror comedy Bong of the Living Dead, animal attack lunacy via House Shark, and She Was So Pretty: Be Good For Goodness Sake, the sequel to one of last year’s award-winning entries. It will also play host to Found Footage 3D and Room 237 director Rodney Ascher’s Terror of Frankenstein.
Nightmares Film Festival will screen over 125 short films in the horror, horror comedy, thriller, midnight, and Ohio categories. These will play in feature-sized blocks throughout the festival and should not be missed. Among them are three shorts starring Melanie Gaydos (Insidious: The Last Key), a model and actress with a rare disorder, whose breakthrough into film and print is challenging the norms of both industries.
Passes are available while they last at GatewayFilmCenter.org/Nightmar
