Focus Features and Annapurna Pictures have released their first trailer for the next film by world-renowned filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson. A period piece drama about about the London couture world of the 1950s, Phantom Thread reunites the acclaimed writer/director with his There Will Be Blood star, Daniel Day-Lewis. If that isn’t enough to make it an instant must-see for you, perhaps the trailer itself will seal the deal…
We still know very little about this film. Given the talent involved, however, that’s honestly all I need to go on. When you’re going to see one of our greatest living actors re-teaming with the man behind films like Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Punch-Drunk Love, do you really need to know more?
The film is currently only set for a limited release this Christmas. Expansions after that could follow, as with previous Anderson efforts, providing it does well. I sincerely hope it does, as his work is even more striking when viewed on the big screen.
