I love action movies, but I especially love Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Bond films. If you’re think that this means I’m a big fan of one-liners and puns, you are 100% correct. I like more serious action fare as much as the next person, but nothing gets me going like a well-placed and well-delivered pun or one-liner (or both) punctuating the end of a great action beat. Where am I going with all of this? Some genius on Youtube has edited together a 22 minute video showcasing most (if not all) of Arnold’s best lines across his almost 50 years as an actor. Any enterprising fellow with time on their hands can edit together a pile of clips. Lucky for us, the above video is well-edited. Not only do the endless clips not outstay their welcome, but they often play off of one another due to the order they are assembled in. I still haven’t made my way through the entire video, but trust me, it makes for fantastic background noise. From what I can tell, pretty much every memorable line from virtually every Arnold Schwarzenegger film that you can think of is in here. Predator, Kindergarten Cop, Red Heat, the Terminator films, The Running Man, Last Action Hero, True Lies, Total Recall, Batman & Robin, Commando, Escape Plan, The Last Stand, and on and on and on. Even Hercules In New York and his cameo in The Rundown make the cut!
I love everything about this video, much as I love that Arnold has returned to acting. The action superstar actually has two films in post-production that are due out later this year: the Darren Aronofsky-produced Aftermath and the action-comedy Why We’re Killing Gunther. Yes, Arnold is playing Gunther. In addition to this, he has shot an extended cameo in Viy 2: Journey to China and is slated to film at least two more projects this year (The Guest of Sanxingdui and Blanco). Possibly more, as he’s likely to appear in some fashion in both The Predator and The Expendables 4. Basically, it’s a great time to be an Arnold fan.
