Scope Out The Crib Of ‘Lego Batman’

Now this is a proper bit of nonsense! MTV has gotten in on The Lego Batman Movie fun with this latest promotional gag. Yes, we officially have a miniature “MTV Cribs” episode centering on a Lego version of Wayne Manor. Complete with Batman and his alter-ego, who are totally not the same person, being ridiculous.

While it can certainly be argued that Warner Bros. still isn’t very sure what path to take with their live action DC Comics films or how to market them honestly, the same couldn’t be said for this. Warner Bros. Animation knows exactly what kind of film they have made and they are selling the hell out of it. As someone who has to watch practically every trailer that comes along at least twice when it goes online and is then stuck watching them over and over in theaters, it’s unfortunately rather easy to get a little sick of a film before it arrives.

Lucky for me, every bit of promotion for The Lego Batman Movie has been fun and fresh. Instead of my excitement being tempered with time, it has only grown over the past few months. Now that we’re only a week away from its release, I find myself more excited than ever. If only I could say the same about most of the live action DC Comics projects headed our way on the big screen.

The Lego Batman Movie arrives in theaters on February 10th, 2017. Directed by Chris McKay, this is the latest entry in Warner Bros.’ on-going Lego film franchise and is produced by Phil Lord & Chris Miller. It stars the vocal talents of Will Arnett as ‘Batman/Bruce Wayne’, Michael Cera as ‘Robin/Dick Grayson’, Zach Galifianakis as ‘The Joker’, Jenny Slate as ‘Harley Quinn/Dr. Harleen Quinzel’, Rosario Dawson as ‘Batgirl/Barbara Gordon’, Ralph Fiennes as ‘Alfred Pennyworth’, and Mariah Carey as ‘Mayor McCaskill’.
