Whether you are aware or not, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” just wouldn’t be what it is without the talent and input of Greg Nicotero. Say what you will about the writing at times, but the special make-up effects are always on point and you have Nicotero and his team to thank for that. A special effects veteran, Nicotero has been in the industry for decades and remains a top talent in the field. On occasion, he also likes to direct, be it episodes of “The Walking Dead” (he’s helmed 18 to date), webisodes of the same series, or even a fun short film like 2010’s The United Monster Talent Agency.
Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon, King Kong, Jaws, The Thing (both versions), Dr. Zaius, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and many more show up within this mini faux newscast documentary. The fun horror cameos don’t stop there, however! You can also have some good fun spotting the likes of Frank Darabont, Jeffrey Combs, Sam Witwer, Eli Roth, Derek Mears, Robert Rodriguez, and more in this fun short film. There’s plenty within for your horror-obsessed brain to love. If you’ve seen it before, you’ll probably want to watch it again. And if you haven’t? Well, you’re in for a treat. Enjoy!

If you’re a relative newcomer to Nicotero’s work, outside of “The Walking Dead“, It’s high time that you embraced his career as a whole. You simply can’t go wrong with these films: Day of the Dead, Evil Dead II, Predator, A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, Bride of Re-Animator, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, The People Under The Stairs, Army of Darkness, Lord of Illusions, Ticks, New Nightmare, In the Mouth of Madness, From Dusk ‘Till Dawn, Scream, Wishmaster, Bubba Ho-Tep, and so many more. It’s not too late! Get to it!
