Ahead of its trailer debut this Friday and its SXSW premiere this Sunday, Focus Features has tossed out a trio of images from the upcoming spy thriller, Atomic Blonde. Directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2), this adaptation of the graphic novel The Coldest City star Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, Sofia Boutella, Toby Jones, John Goodman, Til Schweiger, and Eddie Marsan. Theron is our lead, playing “MI6’s most lethal assassin” on a mission to recover some missing intel and thrust into the middle of a wildly dangerous city. Sounds like fun!

The story takes place in Berlin, on the eve of the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the shifting of superpower alliances. Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron), a top-level spy for MI6, is dispatched to Berlin to take down a ruthless espionage ring that has just killed an undercover agent for reasons unknown. She is ordered to cooperate with Berlin station chief David Percival (James McAvoy), and the two form an uneasy alliance, unleashing their full arsenal of skills in pursuing a threat that jeopardizes the West’s entire intelligence operation.
Atomic Blonde arrives in theaters nationwide on July 28th, 2017.
