The ‘Jurassic World 2’ Cast Is Blooming With Gold

We’ve been hearing for awhile now that Jurassic World 2 will have much stronger connections to the original Jurassic Park trilogy than its predecessor did. Now we have a better picture of what they meant. According to , none other than Jeff Goldblum has joined the cast. The actor will reprise his role as ‘Dr. Ian Malcolm‘, who he previously brought to life in Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

This marks the second actor from the original trilogy to show up in this new run of films, following B.D. Wong’s return in Jurassic World. Wong too is back in this upcoming follow-up. Will others join them? Perhaps Sam Neill, Laura Dern, or Julianne Moore? We should be finding out soon enough. Production began earlier in the month, so any additional casting should be rolling out in the coming weeks. It’s a stacked cast as is, so it won’t be a loss of no further returnees are announced. After all, this is supposed to be a trilogy, so there’s always the next one!

Jurassic World 2 is the fifth film in the Jurassic Park franchise. It is directed by J.A. Bayona, from a screenplay by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. The picture is produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Belen Atienza, and Patrick Crowley. The film stars Chris Pratt as ‘Owen Grady’, Bryce Dallas Howard as ‘Claire Dearing’, Jeff Goldblum as ‘Dr. Ian Malcolm’, and B.D. Wong as ‘Dr. Henry Wu’. Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, and Justice Smith also appear.

Jurassic World 2 will arrive in theaters on June 22nd, 2018.
