‘Logan’ To Hit Home Video With Bonus B&W Cut

It sounds like George Miller’s Black & Chrome version of Mad Max: Fury Road paid off and Fox is following suit! Previously teased by writer/director James Mangold, it’s all but officially confirmed now: Logan will arrive on home video and digital outlets with a bonus black and white cut. This version of the Wolverine trilogy capper will apparently be dubbed the “Noir” cut, which is fitting enough. Google Play is the source of the leak, via their listings, with the folks over at proclaiming the slip up to the world.

20th Century Fox has yet to announce an official release date for the film’s home video debut. Based on typical release patterns, however, I imagine Logan will arrive by early fall at the absolute latest. A mid-summer debut honestly seems likely, although it’s hard to gauge on a hit like this. After all, some places are still running it in theaters!

Logan still remains my favorite film of the year at this point, as well as my favorite X-Men movie overall. I cannot wait to revisit it on Blu-ray and this turn of events only sweetens the deal. Since I have yet to take in the black and white cut of Mad Max: Fury Road, perhaps an adrenaline-fueled, harrowing double feature will be in order?
