3. The Mummy’s Hand (1940)
A screwball adventure comedy that also happens to have a mummy stomping about and strangling people to death? Be still my beating heart! Here we have what is perhaps the birth of the “mummy movie” as we know it. Kharis the Undying’s first Universal rampage remains his best, offering up colorful protagonists, sinister cultists, and a freakishly chilling mummy. It’s great!
