A staple since “The Flash” fired up as the first “Arrow” spin-off, The CW has been whipping up crossover events for its DC shows for the past three years and 2017 will be no different. This year’s event, the plot of which is still under wraps, will span two nights: Monday, November 27th and Tuesday, November 28th. The Monday lineup will begin with “Supergirl” at 8pm and then see “Arrow” make a one-time jump into that night’s 9pm timeslot. The next evening will see “The Flash” (8pm) and “Legends of Tomorrow” (9pm) air in their regular Fall 2017 slots.
“Last year’s crossover was I believe the most successful week in CW’s history in terms of ratings. We felt in this particular case to have Flash and Legends paired, it would be better and tighter in terms of storytelling to do a two part miniseries.
We thought this was a tight concise way of doing it. We had a lot of conversations with the executive producers, the studio, our own scheduling people, our marketing people and we thought this was the tightest way to do it. Next year maybe we’ll go back to four nights.”
As stated above, details about this year’s four-show crossover are still scarce. All that we know at this time is that it will involve a major threat and that “romance is in the air”. Your guess is as good as mine. All four shows resume their airing schedules this fall in the following regular timeslots…
“Supergirl” premieres on October 9th and airs Mondays at 8PM.
“The Flash” premieres on October 10th and airs Tuesdays at 8PM.
“Legends of Tomorrow” premieres on October 10th and airs Tuesdays at 9PM.
“Arrow” premieres on October 12th and airs Thursdays at 9PM.
The network’s fifth DC series, “Black Lightning“, will not premiere until early 2018. While crossovers could be possible between it and other shows on down the line, it is expected to primarily stand on its own during its freshman run.
