The CW Starts DC’s ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ This November

We’ve known for awhile now that this year’s 4-series crossover event between the DC superhero shows on The CW would be arriving on November 27th and 28th. Monday the 27th will give us the first two parts of the event with “Supergirl” and “Arrow“, with “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow” landing on the following night. At the time, they didn’t let us know what the plot would be, but : Crisis on Earth-X!

With all of the heroes in town to celebrate Barry and Iris’ wedding, villains from Earth-X crash the festivities with a deadly agenda.

Supervillains crashing a superhero wedding is a fun enough concept on its own, but further details only sweeten the deal. What is Earth-X? It’s an alternate world populated with supervillain doppelgangers of all our favorite heroes. This means all of the usual CW DC actors will be pulling double duty playing not only their usual roles, but mirror-verse villain versions as well. Expect a lot of scenery-chewing!

Not good enough yet? How about a rad comic book-style poster to go along with it all…

We conceived this year’s crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids. Phil was the perfect choice to bring the comic book cover iteration of this idea to life. You can count on one hand the number of artists who could compellingly represent so many characters in a single image. Phil is one of them. And his design invokes the cover ofJustice League #207, which was the 20th annual JLA/JSA crossover. Our 10-year-old selves are in heaven.” –  producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg on Phil Jimenez’s custom artwork.

The event will also introduce Earth-X hero The Ray. Still not cool enough? Well, how about the additional fact that The Ray will get his own animated series on CW Seed, joining existing shows like “Vixen” and “Constantine“? “The Ray” should premiere on the CW Seed streaming platform sometime in 2018.
